  • erythritol or stevia
  • unsweetened cocoa powder

How To Make Low-Calorie Chocolate Cake

Step 1 – Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8-inch round or square baking pan with parchment paper.

Step 2 – Prepare the Chocolate Milk Mixture
In a mixing cup, combine hot milk, unsweetened cocoa powder, and erythritol or stevia. Whisk until smooth. Set aside.

Step 3 – Mix the Wet Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, light oil, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract until well blended.

Step 4 – Add the Dry Ingredients
Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to the wet mixture. Stir gently.

Step 5 – Combine with the Chocolate Mixture
Pour in half of the chocolate milk mixture (reserve the rest for soaking the cake later). Stir until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter into the  pan and bake for 25–30 minutes.

While the cake is still warm, use a wooden skewer to poke holes all over the top. Slowly spoon the remaining chocolate milk mixture over the cake, letting it soak in for extra moisture.

  • cup (150g) erythritol or stevia
  • ½ cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup (60g) plain Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup (45g) light oil (like canola or vegetable)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla powder
  • 1 cup (140g) whole wheat white flour or all-purpose flour
  • tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt

For the Frosting:

  • ¼ cup (60g) light cream cheese
  • cup (180g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 4 Tbsp (20g) erythritol or stevia
  • 3 Tbsp (15g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup (40g) dark chocolate, melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease or line an 8-inch round or square baking pan.
  • Make the chocolate milk mixture: In a mixing cup, combine hot milk, cocoa powder, and erythritol or stevia. Whisk until smooth. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, oil, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour in half of the chocolate milk mixture (save the other half for soaking). Stir until the batter is smooth and well mixed.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for about 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool slightly in the pan.
  • Make the frosting: In a medium bowl, whisk together cream cheese, Greek yogurt, erythritol or stevia, and cocoa powder. Add melted dark chocolate and whisk until smooth and creamy.
  • Soak the cake: Use a wooden stick or skewer to poke holes all over the top of the warm cake. Slowly spoon the remaining half of the chocolate milk mixture over the cake, letting it soak in.
  • Spread the frosting evenly over the cake. Garnish with extra shredded dark chocolate if desired.
  • Refrigerate for about 30 minutes for best texture. Slice and enjoy!
